Irish musician and songwriter Jamie Duffy is thrilled to announce the release of the long awaited 7'' vinyl of his debut single 'Solas', which garnered widespread acclaim, quickly becoming the most streamed debut song in 2022 by an Irish artist since Hozier's 'Take Me To Church'.
Side B includes a special collaboration, 'Solas (with Sarah Cothran)', a rendition of his acclaimed track featuring the talented US singer Sarah Cothran.
The lyrical inspiration behind 'Solas' delves into the complexities of relationships, tackling themes of resilience and finding light in times of darkness. Collaborating with Sarah Cothran, who was based in Nashville while Jamie was in rural Monaghan, added an international dimension to the project. Despite facing challenges such as postponing writing sessions due to tornado damage in Tennessee, the collaboration resulted in a remarkable musical fusion.
